After an indulgent family breakfast, we hop on our bikes and pedal down to the beach. Don’t worry, we’re just a few minutes from the beach!
Plage Famille 2 ChatelailloA family day at the beach in Châtelaillon
9.30am: A beach day for everyone
Plage Famille Les ConteursThere’s something for everyone in the sunshine. The little ones quickly got back on their feet at the Mômes à la Plage club, while the parents took the opportunity to relax. For Vincent, it’s an introduction to paddle boarding, and for me it’s a zumba session! It’s the perfect opportunity to burn off some energy while chatting to friends we met last year.
11:00: A taste of holiday
After a moment to themselves, the whole tribe meets up for a colourful escapade through the aisles of the market.
It’s our gourmet ritual at Châtelaillon-Plage! We arouse the children’s curiosity, fill the baskets with fresh produce and meet the local producers. Louise is learning how to pick a melon with Vincent, but the boys are quick to spot the oyster stand! Together we choose the menu for the midday barbecue before heading home for lunch.

12.30pm: One for all and all for the table!
Back at the house, we put on our aprons while the little ones play in the sun in the garden. The smell of grilled meat wafts from the barbecue and I finish my lovely salad made with the fruit I bought this morning. In Châtelaillon, small pleasures make big joys!
As we ate, we talked about our morning and tried to remember the new names of the children’s friends! Louise’s nap at the end of the meal means we can get out the board games and try to (finally) beat the boys.
3.30pm: Pancakes, sandcastles and a straw hut!
This afternoon, we’re taking advantage of the blue skies to stroll through the pretty streets of Châtelaillon.

End of day
The sun sets behind the ocean as Vincent sets the tablecloth on the sand. Like every evening since the holidays, it’s picnic time on the beach. And the children won’t be complaining!
To round off our day on the beach, we treat ourselves to a nightcap in one of the straw huts on the seafront before heading back to the holiday home in complete relaxation.
