Objective: getting back into shape

We’ve decided to take up sport again this year. The aim is to get back into shape! And what better way than on the sands of Châtelaillon to set yourself some new challenges in the sunshine? As a couple or with friends, discover our 8 fitness challenges on the beach to keep fit while having fun!

Challenge # 1 - Footing

Put on your trainers for your first challenge. Start: Saint-Jean des Sables, finish: village des Boucholeurs. Off you go for 5km of light running along the seafront. Feeling a bit shaky? Don’t worry, you’re back on track! Take advantage of the fitness trail set up after the sailing club to take a break and catch your breath. If you’re tired, the marina is the perfect place to retrace your steps. 3km out and 3km back – you can be proud of yourself! You’ve certainly earned a drink at Yvan’s Bistrot du Port.

Challenge # 2 - Zumba

The heat is beginning to rise in Rue du Marché! Join bubbly, smiling Valérie for a zumba class. She’s no stranger to fitness on the beach! No matter what your age or level, everyone has fun and applies themselves to the coach’s side in a joyful, good-humoured atmosphere. It’s a friendly, musical atmosphere that’s already got a huge following in Châtelaillon. And it’s free!

We’ve put together 3 different routes for you to discover Châtelaillon and the surrounding area:

Challenge # 4 - Beach volleyball

Join the Châtelaillon volleyball school on the south beach for matches with friends or a team tournament.

Challenge # 5 - Swimming pool

Are you like a fish in water? Châtelaillon has just what you need!

For little swimmers, there’s a pool on the beach, where you can gently synchronise your first movements. Remember to book your lessons in advance with Centre Aquatique 29°.

The Centre Aquatique 29° also has outdoor pools, children’s games, a food-truck and even events! Are you ready to take up the emperors’ challenge?

Challenge # 6 - Swimming

Fitness at the beach is as easy as swimming! Having fun in the water every day is still the best way to keep fit without even realising it. Not bad, eh? What’s more, the beach at Châtelaillon is just a few minutes from the town centre. So there’s no excuse – get in the water! Don’t forget to keep well hydrated with the children and to reapply the cream regularly.

Challenge # 7 - Stand Up Paddle / Catamaran / Kite Surf / Towed Buoy

If fitness is happening on the beach, it’s also happening on the water in Châtelaillon! Stand up paddle, catamaran, kite surf or ink towed buoy, hang on, it’s going to be a bumpy ride! You’ll fall in, hang on and get back up again, all to the laughter of your friends and a helping hand from your instructor. Fitness guaranteed!

You’ll find all these activities and more at the Centre Nautique de Châtelaillon, south of the beach.

# 8 - Paillotte !

As all sportsmen and women know, you can’t get back into shape without recovery! Your final challenge: get as tired as possible in the shade of a beach hut. And don’t forget to stay hydrated with a chilled house cocktail.
