Your tourist office

Who are we?

In 2017, the Châtelaillon-Plage Tourist Office became a community office, in accordance with the NOTRe law, as part of the territorial reorganisation of tourism. It is part of the tourism development strategy led by the Communauté d’Agglomération de La Rochelle.

What’s special about it is that it’s a “spatialised” office, meaning that it’s rooted in its local area, as close as possible to visitors and local economic players.

We have a number of missions:

> to welcome, inform and advise visitors
> promote the destination,
> market tourist services (particularly ticketing),
> support the region’s socio-professionals,
> observe tourist activity to guide future actions.

Organised into five areas of expertise:
> Resort management
> Reception & Quality / Administration
> Relations with accommodation providers
> Marketing / Relations with professionals
> Communication & Digital Strategy

Our quality approach

Since 2012, the Châtelaillon-Plage Community Tourist Office has been committed to offering a quality welcome to all its visitors. Our commitment has been recognised on several occasions by obtaining the Qualité Tourisme™ mark.

Today, this label is evolving to make way for a new national initiative: Destination d’Excellence.

This scheme goes further, incorporating demanding criteria in terms of welcome, but also the environment and accessibility.

What we do every day:

– Welcome you with a smile, in French or foreign languages, and offer you attentive, personalised service.

– Give you clear information, ideas for walks or activities that you might not have thought of.

– Listening to you: your feedback counts, and helps us to make progress.

– If you have a complaint, we will deal with it quickly and seriously.

Why “Destination d’Excellence”?

This new brand is based on two main principles:

> Quality of service: welcome, listening, accessibility, support for professionals, etc.
> Eco-responsibility: waste reduction, energy saving, soft mobility, more eco-friendly digital tools, etc.

What does this mean in practice?

Since March 2025, this approach has been governed by new standards. The quality of our services and our environmental commitments are regularly checked.

And for you, our visitors?

> A team that is trained, attentive and committed to making tourism more sustainable and accessible to all.
> A warm welcome, personalised advice and genuine attention to your needs.
> A destination that is moving forward with its partners towards more respectful and responsible tourism.

With Destination d’Excellence, we’re continuing to make progress to offer you the best possible welcome, in a resort that’s ever more pleasant to live in… and to discover.
