The tradition of the Boucholeurs village in the spotlight

This village is the heart of oyster and mussel production to the south of Châtelaillon-Plage. Oyster and mussel farmers have been lovingly cultivating their seafood for over a century.
They’ll be delighted to meet you in the heart of the village to share their traditions and produce. Would you like to learn how to open oysters, taste them and watch an oyster burst into flames? Head for the Boucholeurs village.

For young and old alike, the Boucholeurs festival will delight the whole family. Mum will be delighted to stroll through the local producers’ market and choose some fine oysters for the evening, local beers for the aperitif, or a pretty photo by a local artist to decorate the living room.

As for the children, they’ll be running around the P’tits-bouchos village, where the programme includes water games, chamboul’tout and other old-fashioned games, pony rides and plenty of other activities just for them.

After a break to sample the oysters, the long-awaited moment came when the éclade was set alight. The mussels are patiently placed on pine needles and set alight. What a spectacle and what a treat.
