Get into châtelaillonnais mode!

Living in the capital often means living in a tiny flat… So every year, we go into châtelaillonnais mode! Breathing, going for long bike rides, spending all day outside and staying on the beach until the evening – that’s why we love the resort. Quite simply. Once again this year, we’ve chosen a lovely holiday rental in Châtelaillon, just a stone’s throw from the beach. Come and see for yourself!

Our favourites in Charente Maritime

We fell under the spell of Châtelaillon during our first summer with the kids! With its gentle seaside setting and distinctive architecture, the town has a charm that makes it unique. Not to mention the friendliness of the Charente!

After all these years, it’s still a pleasure to stroll through its peaceful streets. You can stroll between the (seemingly!) small, one-storey and two-storey houses, admiring their characteristic pointed roofs and vibrant colours.

According to the Tourist Office, most of them were built in the late 19th and early 20th centuries. Authenticity that shows!

We’ve just arrived at our châtelaillonnaise holiday rental in the Rue du Marché. It’s impossible to miss with its beautiful yellow facade. Inside, you’ll find all the comforts of a main residence… plus the peace and quiet!

The beach next to our house is so great! You can go swimming whenever you like. And if you’ve forgotten something, like your snowshoes or your snack, it’s no big deal.

Simple and relaxed: embrace the spirit of châtelaillonnais!

As soon as we arrive at our holiday rental in Châtelaillon, we put our suitcases down and go out to play with the kids in the garden. Sun, garden and children having fun, the holidays can begin! Paris and its grey skies seem a long way away as you stretch out comfortably on the deckchairs on the terrace…

If the diaries are empty, there’s one event not to be missed during the summer: the covered market!

It’s a concentration of the spirit of châtelaillonnais that awaits you between its colourful stalls. You can chat to the locals, meet the local producers and sample the delicacies of the Charente. Goat’s cheese, oysters and sausages for the barbecue, your mouth is already watering. Not to mention the smell of sweet melon wafting from the basket… Quick, let’s eat!

Back to our rental, where everything has been designed with holidays in mind. There’s even a door at the end of the garden so you can come in after the beach. The children take a shower, the parents prepare the aperitif and everyone gathers on the terrace. Tonight, it’s a funfair!
