It’s impossible to miss – it’s right in the heart of the resort! With its friendly, relaxed atmosphere, free access and varied facilities, it’s a children’s paradise and a parents’ paradise. Find your animal totem together, get out your hats and enjoy our 3 must-sees.

My first visit to Châtelaillon!
Enjoy the beach, the jewel of Châtelaillon
Swimming, of course! Be sure to check the tide tables and only swim when the tide is high. The water is very warm, which is surprising at first!
Lace up your trainers for a morning jog: the sporting ritual of the holidays! Take off in short strides for a 5 km round trip and come home proud of yourself and in great shape.
Sand paddling with the kids: a fun and friendly way to spend time on the beach.
Stroll around in a Belle Epoque atmosphere
The Belle Epoque was a gentle interlude at the end of the 19th century when everything seemed simple and possible. Châtelaillon has managed to preserve the atmosphere that makes it seem like an eternal holiday. Stroll through its streets, stop off in front of its pretty gardens and take the time to admire its beautiful, characterful villas.
The charm of the resort continues beyond its walls! Put on your tennis shoes and set off to discover its natural heritage with the Flâneries.
These professionally-designed walks will take you from the villas in the town centre to the ocean, via the marsh lagoon.
Playing together!
How many stars does Villa Stella Maris have? Why doesn’t Villa Stella Maris have a name? I’m sure Zarthus isn’t far away! When the Poïz get involved, discovering Châtelaillon becomes a real adventure for children!
Try out Terra Aventura’s fun tours and discover the many mysteries of the resort as a family… The perfect activity for a fun-filled visit to Châtelaillon.
Villa Dunes Chatelaillon PlageDiscover the pearl of the coast
The advantage of cycling is that there’s never a traffic jam! Especially on the way to Les Boucholeurs, a small oyster-farming village. You can pedal at your own pace along the coastline and soak up the landscapes marked by oyster farming, the local pride and joy.

We’ve seen it, now we want to taste it! Valérie from Ambiance Cabane welcomes us to her seafront home for an oyster tasting and explains the birth and growth of her iodised treasure.
It’s already time to leave, but we promise to be back tomorrow at low tide for a tour of the oyster beds in a horse-drawn carriage.
Setting sail
It’s impossible to visit Châtelaillon without playing at being a sailor! Head to the sailing club for the sea cubs, where a wide range of age-appropriate activities awaits them.
Equipment and professionals at their side: safety is no joke! The older children are quick to adopt the paddle and its simplicity.
As for the teenagers, they’ll be doing “heave-ho” with a great kite-surfing session in the company of Antonin Rangin, sports coach and local champion. So cool!
Savour local specialities
The market is sacred! We’re taking a break from our visit to Châtelaillon to stock up on generous, gourmet local specialities. The truth is, we’d like to buy everything… but we have to make choices!
Head to the covered market to say hello to the local producers and meet up with the regulars. Pascal’s goat’s cheese, Loïc’s crickets, Sandy’s pineau or the Courprie family’s oysters: you’ll be salivating in anticipation…
And don’t forget the markets on Tuesday and Friday mornings, with traders from all over the region. Visiting Châtelaillon is also a matter of taste.
Admire the colours of a sunset
Don’t miss the magnificent lights of Châtelaillon and their permanent enchantment.
From morning to night, the colours and shades change to the delight of observers. The blues turn to pinks before taking on flamboyant hues each evening for the highlight of the show: sunset. Romantics, this is your moment!
