See you at the Media Library
Located behind the town hall, in the courtyard, it’s just a stone’s throw from the rue du marché. So walk, cycle or scooter, the choice is yours.
It’s open all year round on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Fridays and Saturdays from 10am to 12pm and from 3pm to 6pm, and on Thursdays from 3pm to 6pm.
Enfant LectureThe traveller's café
What if you took the time to read your favourite daily newspaper while sipping a good coffee in a quiet, relaxing place? That’s what holidays are all about, doing everything and nothing. Then you’ve come to the perfect place, the Café du Voyageur at the entrance to the media library. Order your favourite hot drink from a volunteer, browse through the 40 daily newspapers on offer and make yourself comfortable.
Flip through and escape
Want to read the latest detective novel by your favourite author or find out more about the history of Châtelaillon? Sylvie and Cristelle will be happy to share their favourites with you.
Cristelle Sylvie
Mediatheque LivreWe’re sure they’ll have the summer reading you need for lazing on the beach. Or if you prefer, sit back in one of the many armchairs, leaf through the books and make your choice.
And while you’re at it, let your children discover their own space, choose the book to read before going to sleep or the comic book of the week and let them spread out in the big, soft, colourful armchairs… a real invitation to read.
The tourist office can advise you
Did you know that the media library offers a weekly pass in summer?
So for €5, it would be silly not to.

Connect and bubble
It’s decided, this year we’re going offline. You’re not allowed to take your computer on holiday. But we’d still like to send a few holiday snaps to Grandma and Grandpa. We’ve been told that the Médiathèque’s wifi area is the cosiest in Châtelaillon. We went up to the first floor and there, surprise, it was a living room just like home, with a touch of vintage about it. We settled in, chose our computer and sent off our photos. And in the end, we’re going to stay surfing a bit longer, because we’re really happy here!
Let's hear some pretty stories!
Cristelle and Sylvie love a good story, and every Thursday in summer they offer one in the park to children aged 4 and over. Under the shade of the trees, they’ll take your little ones into the world of giants and fantastic animals… great stories ahead, and it’s free too.
Throughout the year, there will be a succession of workshops, meetings and competitions, because a love of reading is something to be shared.
